store: Buildings anthromorphized

“I was describing to Pearl Girl recently how buildings don’t lie about their age, their successes and their failures: tenants go bankrupt and new tenants move in, bird guano persists and flashing trails rust, concrete collects finger oil and car collisions. People paint their offices and turn conference facilities into storage rooms. Buildings mature like people: they may wear wisdom on their exterior but the structure tends to stay the same.”
