staring out my window and my window box garden today, I realized all of a sudden that many of my plants die becuase I don’t know that much about them. It is then that suddenly I see it, that growing plants, farming, is a technology that’s much more complicated than it appears. Those dwelling entirely in cities might not realize it, but it requires a tracing of roots, soils, light, tempetature, water, and other things back to their interactions. Farming is often take as the refuge of the rural and a sign of backwardness, but in reality to grow a decent plent requires a level of enquiry that might be on foot with many careers. It’s to bad it’s so low grossing.
