Second Life

reminds me a ot of the early days or irc.
everyone is obessed with either sex or scripting.
it’s populated by a lot of women. many of whom seem loserish or desperate.

meet some intereresting folks and a lot of what seemed like teenage girls (one called me an asshole for saying I wasn’t interested in getting a prim make over =)  ). Often times it feels like
you’re their brother or gay friend the conversations as so candid.
played tringo though and met a pretty cool game designer.
so much space permeates SL that you become aware of the emptiness.
the real problem with MMOs are the incentives. SL will pay people
to camp, hence a lot of people spend most of their time in chairs.
This seems like a waste to me and rather annoying. I geuss the problem
is, not enough areas have anything to do except buy or stare.

In a weird way it’s like real life, space is staring there waiting for your action.
