Boulevard glam hits Athens

I might have just been totally drunk but these guys Boulevard really fucking amazed me last night. Apparently they’ve been around since 2001 and are touring the East Coast fairly tirelessly. Unfortunately though their mp3 doesn’t seem to catch what I heard live:

Octane Lovers

Live were perhaps the southern compatriots to England’s fertile spurts of the 70s and 80s, perhaps what goth-rock would have sounded like if it had the optimism of Bowie’s early career. Perfectly captures what I want to hear in new wave versus what’s actually there.

yeah the sounded better live for some reason. felt like there was more of a mixture of pysch pop, new wave, and glam than on the album.
