Today’s sub-motive was to get Ty’s band Plastic Red Bug off the ground. Joe Brock and Christiani Boswell’s friend plays drum and is into the Melvins and Dave G. plays bass. For all I know Ty already has a drummer and a bassit, but I don’t think he does. Going to call him real soon. Hao is down with hosting the Botanica Showcase at the social, so it looks like it MIGHT happen in mid-march as a pre-infiltrate event. I’m so pissed at Wills Pubs and I really wish everything was ok with “us” as in I’d like to go to Wills, have fun, and book stuff there again, but Jeff who books there is a total prick and fucking lied to me several times. Pat has recruited several people to head to the woods with him including A. Walker and Anne-Belle. Ran into Joe and Nora, Nora is easily the most attractive 16 year old I know and so smart and cute too. She reminds me of Annie in a very strange way. Joe’s latest track is seeing some club play in Melbourne, it’s real up tempo. He’s in some grind core band so hopefully Brian will be interested in letting him play or something. Aside from that Tatum’s friend gave me a CD of his group and they rock in an indie heavy metal Oxes sort of way. I was suprised, he seemed like the Wilco type. Mario is in town and we played with him tonight. Rhett brought some weird drum. Lacy fell asleep during the show. She looked very cute in her Mid-West hat asleep next to Anne-Belle (is that the right spelling?) on the sofa. Set went well, Matt Gourney stopped by. Held the swap meet and got rid of some CDs, paid for dinner, and E.J. didn’t show at Stardust, another looker lost to the masses of friends out there. Pat wants to start a mailing list for Florida promoters of new music, Me, him, Dave Hickey, Dave Manson, and Gustavo. I had the same idea, so I geuss we’re gonna do it. I also wanna start one with Adam of Must!Delicious, Stephen C., Fred, Rumolo, and the merk guy whose name escapes me. By the end of this month should have 4 mailing lists for music. So busy, yet still no work. Can’t wait till public schools get back in. Working on my work history for OCPS and Ghettoblaster reviews for tomorrow.
